YOUR TASKS
• Independent research activities in Computational Methods in Time-based Arts and Musicology, with possible directions including generative audio and music models (e.g. diffusion models), modelling of timbre and expression in voice and music, music information retrieval, or digital/computational musicology
• Pursuit and working at PhD thesis of doctoral studies in KUG’s scientific doctoral school
• Independent teaching of courses and holding exams
• Independent research activities
• Support of students
• Co-operation in research projects and teaching tasks for which the organisational unit to which they have been assigned, is responsible
• Assistance in examinations
• Contribution to organisational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures
YOUR PROFILE
• Diploma or master’s degree in an appropriate professional study area
• Strong programming skills (in particular Python) and solid knowledge of machine learning and/or audio signal processing
• Experience in academic work and interest in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of computer science, music and the arts
• If German is not the first language, proof of knowledge of German at level C1 (Common European Reference Framework for Languages) or, alternatively, proof of comparable knowledge of English
• Sensitivity in dealing with gender, diversity and sustainability
• Experience in the field of Science Communication (Science Outreach) is welcome

CONTRACT
• The employment contract is limited 4 years. The employment contract needs to include the completion of an academic doctoral degree at the scientific doctoral school.
• Employment level: part-time, employment level of 75% of full-time employment.
• Salary: minimum monthly gross salary currently € 2,832.08 (14x annually) according to the collective bargaining Agreement for University Staff and may be increased based on the terms of the collective agreement, considering the professional experience relevant to the position.
