YOUR DUTIES

• Teaching particularly in the main artistic subject Composition in the field of Composition and Music Theory as well as in the field of Education in Composition and Music Theory

• Responsible representation and promotion of the field in its entirety, in particular in the arts-based research

• Advising students beyond the purely artistic-crafts education

• Cooperation and project leadership in University and non-University projects of contemporary art

• Development of specific independent range of curricula as well as conduct of workshops

• Active participation in the further development of the university’s teaching environment and its artistic and scholarly life, as well as helping shape the academic autonomy of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz

• Participation in organisational, administrative and evaluation duties

YOUR PROFILE

• A degree from an Austrian or comparable foreign educational institute that suits the position or an equivalent artistic aptitude

• Outstanding personality with the highest artistic qualification for the position to be filled

• Outstanding pedagogical and didactic competency

• Teaching experience in tertiary education

• Artistically outstanding activity with cosmopolitan charisma

• Extensive, independent and distinctive compositional work of outstanding musical and artistic quality

• Proof of a reflective approach to essential artistic, social and technological movements and developments

• Experience and willingness to work in a pedagogical team

• Competence and/or experience in the areas of Gender and Diversity

• If German is not the native language, it is assumed that there is the willingness to learn German with the aim of reaching at least level B2 within a fixed period of time.

CONTRACT

• Contract according to § 99 of the Universities Act

• The employment contract is limited to 5 years in accordance with § 25 of the collective bargaining Agreement for University Staff. The appointment may only be extended after an appointment procedure has been carried out in accordance with § 98 of the Universities Act.

• Employment level: Part-time, employment level 75 % of full-time employment

• Salary: The collective agreement specifies a minimum monthly gross salary, currently € 4,953.23 (14x annually); a higher salary may be negotiated.
