University Professorship (w/m/d) for Music Therapy
INSTITUTE OF MUSIC IN SOCIETY: PEDAGOGY – MEDIATION - THERAPY

YOUR DUTIES
• Responsible representation and promotion of the subject area in research and teaching
• Teaching particularly in courses of the main curricula (BA, MA, PhD) for which a venia docendi is required
• Acquisition of third-party funding
• Supervision of theses (BA, MA, PhD, Dr. art.)
• Teaching comprehensive practical skills as a music therapist
• Continuation and expansion of national and international networks and collaborations (e.g. with healthcare providers and institutions to develop internship opportunities and research projects)
• Active participation in the further development of the university’s teaching environment and its artistic and scholarly life, as well as helping shape the academic autonomy of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz
• Participation in organisational, administrative and evaluation duties
YOURE PROFILE
• Completed music therapy studies, which in Austria entitles the holder to register on the list of music therapists on their own responsibility
• A degree at the doctoral level from an Austrian or international institution relevant to the position
• Habilitation and/or a qualification equal to the Habilitation in the subject area
• Outstanding international scholarly reputation
• Pedagogical and didactic aptitude for university teaching at an excellent level
• Several years of teaching experience at tertiary level
• Substantial publications in the field of music therapy
• Several years of practical experience as a music therapist in the clinical field
• Sensitivity in dealing with gender, diversity and sustainability
• If German is not the applicant’s native language, a willingness to learn German with the aim of reaching at least level B2 within a fixed period of time is assumed.
• Experience in the field of Science Communication (Science Outreach)
• Additional qualifications such as psychotherapy training are also desirable.

CONTRACT
• Contract according to § 98 of the Universities Act
• Unlimited employment contract in accordance with § 25 of the collective bargaining Agreement for University Staff
• Employment level: full-time employment
• Salary: The collective agreement specifies a minimum monthly gross salary (A1 job group), currently € 6,713.30 (14x annually); a higher salary may be negotiated.
