The Conservatorio Giuseppe Tartini is celebrating this year the 110th anniversary of its foundation which goes back to when Trieste was still a city of the Habsburg Empire, precisely its main harbour.Its main aims are :- Strengthening excellence, contributing to the development of quality learning and promoting high performances, through innovation and achievement of a European dimension.- Helping to improve the quality, attractiveness and accessibility of the learning opportunities available in our institution. Making well-known ourprofessionalism and creating mutually beneficial partnerships can provide us chances of discussion and growth.The Tartini has a long international experience, having been among the first Italian Conservatories entering the program LLP (2002).At present many foreign students choose Trieste for their Erasmus mobilities and half of the current students reside out of the town or beyond the border.According to recent surveys the percentage of foreigners from the rest of Europe and the Balkans is the highest in Italy coming from Cina, Moldavia, Lettonia, Iran, Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia-Erzegovina, Croazia, Slovenia, Bulgaria...Over the past seven years we have been pursuing the aim of increasing the number of our Inter-institutional agreements (currently more than 60) with the specific purpose of providing more opportunities for our students and faculty members and furthermore to gain increased visibility for our institution. With the new program Erasmus + weare considering the possibility of new partnerships first of all with the nearest Balkan countries,secondly with Albania, Armenia, Georgia, USA, Canada.Furthermore the nearby Alpe-Adria area is not only linkedthrough the Erasmus agreements but also by means of an additional network, the so- called MNS Music studies network, whose constitution was ratified in June 2012 with the specific intent of setting a close cooperation in the field of the tertiary music education system.In the academic year 2013 2014 due to the international mobility particularly active and fruitful the Tartini has been given a considerable allocation of funds by the Italian National Agency, the highest one among the Italian Conservatories.Still the Tartini actively collaborates with different Italian istitutions or networks such as the University of Trieste, the KTEUP Consortium created together whith the Universities of Udine and Trieste and the two Conservatories of the Friuli Venezia-Giulia region (the first Italian consortium bringing together both universities and conservatories with the aim of organizing Placements).Since 2010 the Tartini has been a partner in the Leonardo project Working With Music promoted by the Conservatories of Frosinone and L'Aquila, which is now in its successful fourth edition having significantly increased the number of partners .WWM is aimed at young graduates entering the labor market. They are given the opportunity to achieve professional internship experiences everywhere in Europe supported by the Leonardo grants.In January 2014 our institution was granted by the European Union the renewal ofthe prestigious Diploma Supplement, essential tool which gives transparency and facilitates the academic and professional recognition of qualifications and the admission to foreign universities.In addition, the European Commission has officially announced the grant of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) for the whole period of the Erasmus + program (2014-2020).
