General Information
The State Conservatory of Thessaloniki is one of the oldest and most historic music institutions in Greece, with a long-standing tradition in music education. It is the only music educational institution in the country that offers free music education to students across all musical instruments, as well as in the departments of Vocal Studies and Opera, Byzantine and Church Music, Advanced Music Theory, and Orchestral Conducting. Students are admitted to the institution through entrance examinations held at the beginning of each academic year.
In addition to being a beacon of music education, the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki is a leading musical institution in Northern Greece. Through its continuous contribution of artistic events, concerts, exhibitions, competitions, and educational programs to the wider public, it has established itself as a constant cultural pillar and cradle of artistic creation throughout its nearly 110 years of operation.
