AEC warmly welcomes the return of the United Kingdom to Erasmus+ from 2027. For too long, our UK colleagues and students have missed out on many of the opportunities for mobility, exchange and cooperation that lie at the heart of the programme. It is simply great to have them back!
The return is particularly important for Higher Music Education, as reconnecting UK institutions fully with Erasmus+ will create new opportunities not only for British students and staff, but for the whole AEC community.
From 2027, UK organisations will once again be able to participate in Erasmus+ as organisations from an associated country, opening the way for mobility and cooperation activities under the programme.
Preparations for the first funding round involving the UK are already under way. The European Commission adopted the 2027 Erasmus+ Annual Work Programme on 15 October, and the next funding round is expected to open in November 2026. For many activities, application deadlines are expected around February 2027, although the exact dates will only be confirmed with the publication of the 2027 Erasmus+ Programme Guide.
AEC will continue to follow developments closely and you can access more information directly at the Erasmus+ website of the European Commission.
