The Centro Superior Katarina Gurska offers the unique opportunity of an in-depth specialization in the rich Spanish repertoire of piano, guitar, violin and voice performance.
If you are fascinated by Spanish music and culture you can finally deep into an official postgraduate program at the heart of the country: the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska in Madrid. During the course you will be surrounded by the greatest Spanish musicologists and performers.
The Master's Degree in Interpretation of Spanish Music (MISME) combines theory and practice in order to endow the performer with a global knowledge of Spanish music — we invite students to turn themselves into authentic Spanish performers.

There are two main modules:

1) Performing module: individual courses led by the most significant Spanish music teachers and performers:
  • Piano: Marta Zabaleta, Luis Fernando Pérez, Gustavo Díaz-Jerez, Miguel Ituarte.
  • Guitar: Àlex Garrobé, Pedro Mateo González, Javier Riba, Marcos Socías.
  • Voice: Ainhoa Arteta, Milagros Poblador, Manuel Cid, Manuel Burgueras.
  • Violin: Vicente Cueva, Lina Tur Bonet.

2) Theoretical module: it introduces the performer into the history of Spanish musicthrough theroetico- practical courses teached by renowned musicologists (Javier Suárez-Pajares, Laura Sanz, Cristina Aguilar, Elena Torres Clemente) and folklorists. In fact, an entire section is dedicated to folkloric genres and flamenco, with the participation of great specialists such as Faustino Núñez and celebrated flamenco singers like Mayte Martín.
