The Medical University of Graz in cooperation with the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz is sponsoring a Composition Competition for a musical theme for the Medical University of Graz.

The musical theme will be played on festive occasions and at academic celebrations of the Medical University of Graz. As a musical business card, it will be a symbol of the Medical University of Graz, a dynamic and innovative university whose humanistic focus is on the entire human being. With a spirit of innovation, it conducts research, teaches and learns for patient health and well-being.

The competition is open to composers of all ages from every country. A jury presided over by the rector of the Medical University of Graz will select one of the submitted compositions to be the future musical theme.

The composer of the winning work will receive a payment of EUR 5,000 that also includes compensation for all future performance and exploitation rights. The jury may also award a special prize of EUR 3,000 for an artistically innovative composition.
