The Erasmus+ INTERMUSIC Project (Interactive Environment for Music Learning and Practising)  has held a workshop entitled “What we learned, what we produced, where we are heading to” at the 2020 Teaching Music Online in Higher Education Conference sponsored by the Melbourne Conservatoire of Music in Australia. This has been an important dissemination opportunity to share the following activities and results that the project has achieved between 2017 and 2020:

  • the development of a Moodle platform for a shared, international and long distance learning of music disciplines
  • the development and experimentation of plug-ins to reduce latency and other services for online music and Network Music
  • a study on the interaction in live performance both in presence and long distance
  • Guides on online courses
  • The development of blended pilot courses on Music Theory and Composition with traditional Chinese instruments
  • Experiences on practice on online chamber music courses
  • The development of a shared international module on Voice Literature in Original Languages

The workshop has featured the project’s highlights, along with concrete experiences of blended learning, collected after three years of collaborations among the five partners, Music Conservatoire of Milano, Politecnico of Milano, LMTA in Vilnius, RDAM in Copenhagen, and the AEC.

At the same conference, AEC presented its projects and activities addressing the digital shift of students, teachers and staff in higher music education.
The work of the groups dedicated to Digitisation, Learning & Teaching and Internationalisation & Mobility within the Creative Europe (Network) Project “AEC – Strengthening Music in Society” has been presented with a special focus on the Online Application System EASY. Furthermore, an overview of the project outputs of the Erasmus+ projects INTERMUSIC, SWING and DEMUSIS and of the Creative Europe projects Opera Out of Opera and Opera InCanto has been given in order to show different use and role of technologies in learning and teaching, curricula and audience development and the different approaches of these projects to the digital world.
