A presentation entitled “Subject-specific internationalisation carried out at network level: the actions of the European Association of Conservatoires (AEC) for higher music education”, focusing on the outcomes related to the Internationalisation and Transnational Mobility strand of the Creative Europe funded project “AEC – Strengthening Music in Society” (SMS) has been successfully delivered by Sara Primiterra, AEC Events and Project Manager, and Christofer Fredriksson, Uniarts Stockholm, Chairperson of the AEC International Relations Coordinators (IRC) working group, at the hybrid edition of the Erasmus Coordinators Conference (ERACON) in Varna, Bulgaria, on 7 July.
Sara and Christofer presented the AEC as the reference subject-specific network for higher music education institutions in Europe and beyond, underlining its think-tank, networking hub and advocacy functions; then, they presented the SMS project with a focus on the outcomes of its internationalisation strand until now: three successful editions of the AEC IRC Meetings and connected workshops, a Reflection Paper on the Future of Internationalisation in Higher Music Education, the 2020 Manifesto for the AEC IRC Community, EASY, the European Online Application System for Mobility in Higher and Art Music Education and the AEC Vacancy Platform. The presentation, which was extremely well received by the public attending the ERACON Conference, culminated in the presentation of the IRC Video explaining the work, the aims, the principles and the future plans of the AEC community of international relations coordinators. Thanks to these presentations, the actions of the AEC related to the internationalisation of higher music education have been disseminated to a wider audience of European IRCs who learned about the AEC and its activities.
