The Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music invites music performers working at doctoral and post-doctoral level to take part in Doctors in Performance (DIP), the seventh edition of the festival conference dedicated to music performance and artistic research. The conference brings together doctoral candidates and post-doctoral researchers whose work in artistic research is rooted in performance.

DIP was founded in 2014 at the University of the Arts Helsinki and has since travelled across Europe. Previous editions were hosted by the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin (2016), the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius (2018), the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Tallinn (2021), the Royal Academy of Music in London (2023) and the University of the Arts Helsinki (2025).

As the name suggests, the conference places performance at its centre. Recital and lecture recital submissions are particularly encouraged, while paper presentations in relevant fields of artistic research are also welcome.
