The AEC is excited to announce the call for applications for its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Panel of Experts for the 2025–2028 term. The DEI Panel of Experts is a key initiative under AEC’s new Creative Europe funding period, which will support all AEC activities for the next four years.
The action is part of AEC’s commitment to promoting DEI as a fundamental priority in both its internal practices and the activities it supports within the Higher Music Education (HME) sector. The Panel will work to address and overcome imbalances related to gender, ethnicity, socio-economic background, and other intersecting dimensions, both within HME institutions and in AEC’s daily operations.
The Panel will work closely with AEC’s Steering Committee, Office Team, and relevant working groups, including those focused on Special Education Needs and Sustainable Development Goals. It will also follow up on the work carried out by previous groups on similar topics, namely the Diversity, Identity, Inclusiveness Working Group (AEC-SMS, 2017-2022), and both the Diversity, Inclusion and Gender Equality (DIGE) Working Group and Gender Equality and Non-discrimination Mainstreaming Task Force (ARTEMIS, 2022-2025).
AEC invites individuals with expertise, strong interest or lived experience in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to apply. Ideal candidates include professionals with backgrounds in cultural and heritage studies, social sciences, psychology, migration, and human resources, as well as artists and performers from minority groups, activists and researchers. Music educators with experience in facilitating inclusive and diverse learning environments are also encouraged to apply. Students’ applications are particularly welcome, as their unique perspectives will enrich the work of the Panel and ensure a more comprehensive approach to DEI issues.
Applications should be sent to the DEI Panel of Experts Coordinator Alfonso Guerra at the following email address: alfonsoguerra@aec-music.eu and should include the following:
- CV of the candidate
- Motivation Letter to be part of the DEI Panel of Experts
- A letter from the legal representative of the institution confirming the institution’s readiness to enable and recognise the participation of the candidate to the Panel (if selected)
The deadline for applications is 14 February 2025.
