Organ Masterclass: Interpretation on the Italian Organ Music from the 16th to the 19th Century with Ljerka Očić

The University of Zagreb – Academy of Music will be holding an organ masterclass on the 3rd to 9th of September, which will take place in Grožnjan at the Cultural Center of Jeunesse Musicales. This course will focus on the interpretation of the repertoire from different epochs of Italian organ music; including the Italian style of instrument, terminology, techniques, and interpretation.
 
Ljerka Očić will be leading the organ masterclass. She is one of the most eminent Croatian music artists, and has been teaching organ and chamber music at the Academy of Music in Zagreb since 1992. She is also a jury member at the international organ contests and gives master courses in interpretation, receiving a number of prestigious awards both in Croatia and abroad. Since 2014, Ljerka Očić is the vice dean for international and inter-institutional collaboration at the Academy of Music in Zagreb and gained a doctoral degree with the topic “European Organ Music through Periods and Styles from 16th to the 21st Century” at the University of Zagreb in 2017.
