As part of the REACT project, Piteå School of Music at the Luleå University of Technology will host a symposium dedicated to the development of reflective and critical approaches to the teaching and learning of music performance in Higher Music Education (HME) which will take place from 21-23 September 2022.

The symposium aims to bridge the gap between artistic production and academic research, thus creating opportunities to combine artists’, educators’ and researchers’ knowledge, featuring thematic conferences, round table discussions, papers, lecture recitals, workshops and pedagogical demonstrations.

Call for papers

Presentations that advocate change with regard to diversity, equity and inclusivity, with a particular interest in new formats and concepts are welcome to apply. The REACT Symposium will create a forum for debating the activities implemented within the scope of the project, providing a space for the broader community to discuss current developments in music performance teaching and learning and to present related artistic research projects.

The abstracts can be submitted via email by 30 April.

More details and application instructions can be found on the dedicated page.
