YOUR TASKS
• Participation in ongoing research projects, including the development and implementation of software tools and applications for use in acoustics and computer music, as well as the maintenance and further development of IEM plugins
• Assistance with the maintenance, operation, and further development of the institute’s research infrastructure
• Independent teaching of courses and holding exams
• Independent research activities
• Support of students
• Co-operation in research projects and teaching tasks for which the organisational unit to which they have been assigned, is responsible
• Assistance in examinations
• Contribution to organisational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures
YOUR PROFILE
• Diploma or master’s degree in an appropriate professional study area
• Solid knowledge in the areas of audio signal processing and machine learning
• Programming skills in Python, Matlab, and C/ C++
• Basic knowledge of working with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Lightning, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
• Experience with hardware and software for real-time audio applications
• If German is not the first language, proof of knowledge of German at level C1 (Common European Reference Framework for Languages) or, alternatively, proof of comparable knowledge of English must be provided as a prerequisite for admission to the PhD programme.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary research teams
• Independent and goal-oriented working style
• Sensitivity in dealing with gender, diversity and sustainability
• Experience in the field of Science Communication (Science Outreach) is welcome

CONTRACT
• The employment contract is limited to 4 years. The employment contract needs to include the completion of an academic doctoral degree in the field of “Sound and Music Computing“.
• Employment level: part-time, employment level of 75 % of full-time employment.
• Salary: minimum monthly gross salary currently € 2,832.07 (14x annually) according to the collective bargaining Agreement for University Staff and may be increased based on the terms of the collective agreement, considering the professional experience relevant to the position.
