AEC Annual Meeting for International Relations Coordinators 2024
The Space Between
educating citizen artists through global cooperation
We are delighted to announce the AEC Annual Meeting for International Relations Coordinators 2024, hosted at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in Dublin from 4th to 7th September. Under the thought-provoking theme of “The Space Between: Educating Citizen Artists Through Global Cooperation,” this conference promises to be a transformative experience for all attendees.
As we navigate the evolving landscape of higher music education, your insights, expertise, and collaboration are invaluable. Together, we will explore the role of the IRC as “the space between” many factors and actors, the oil between the inner mechanisms of HMEIs, the mediator between students and institutions, the facilitator between papers, IT systems and humans, the bridge between education and society, forging pathways to empower artist citizens on a global scale.
The event will kick off with three insightful pre-conference workshops focused on essential topics. Participants will have the opportunity to dig into the intricacies of the EASY system, explore the innovative approaches of the Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme, and engage in a reflection on Power Relations affecting international offices.
Throughout the meeting, three keynote sessions will illuminate key aspects of the conference theme. From the exploration of the citizen artist to understanding the international student experience and delving into audience development strategies by John Sloboda, these addresses are set to inspire and inform.
Parallel sessions will be the heartbeat of the conference, covering vital areas such as global collaboration, sustainability, power relations, and inclusion. Attendees can expect in-depth discussions, sharing of best practices, and networking opportunities that transcend borders.
Moreover, participants will have the chance to join discussion groups focusing on addressing the practical challenges encountered by international offices, such as finding partners, implementing the ESCI, applying to KA171, filling the Erasmus+ participants report, and dealing with psychological challenges of international students. Your input and perspectives will contribute to fostering greater efficiency and effectiveness in our offices.
Invaluable moments of the meeting will include the networking activity The Viking Splash and the final Food Sharing between participants.
Join us in Dublin as we embark on a journey of collaboration, innovation, and empowerment. Together, let’s bridge the space between cultures and create a brighter future for artist citizens worldwide.
We look forward to welcoming you to the AEC Annual Meeting for International Relations Coordinators 2024.
