Overview
In 2010 the AEC office worked on a publication which aimed at giving a comprehensive overview of the Higher Music Education (HME) systems in all AEC Active Member institutions in Europe. For each country, the study presents the different education cycles per country, its qualifications systems, entry requirements as well as an overview of the pre-college music training system. In order to assist institutions in their debates with policy makers in (higher) education and in local, regional and national governments on the necessity of a well organised HME system, the office with the help of AEC members updated the information in 2016, adding new fields of research and including more countries.
