The International Relations Coordinators (IRCs) of AEC member institutions now have a new manifesto, crafted by the recently appointed IRC Working Group and officially presented during the AEC Annual Meeting 2025 in Budapest, which coincided with the 25th anniversary of the event.
Compared to the previous manifesto published in 2020, this new manifesto reaffirms the conviction that an effective and meaningful international strategy – one that reflects the global reality of the music profession – should be fully embedded into each institution’s overall strategy, driving quality enhancement and institutional transformation.
The Annual Meeting of IRCs plays a central role in this mission: it provides a platform to stay informed about sector-wide developments, exchange practices, and strengthen international partnerships in both formal and informal settings. Ultimately, the IRCs share a common goal: to empower society by preparing students, teachers, and staff to become global citizens, equipped with strong intercultural communication and collaboration skills.
